The 'Foundation Stones' are a limited series of 25 individually handmade and uniquely-styled, illuminated resin-cast sculptures. Cast by hand in durable two-part epoxy resin from an original hand-sculpted master design, each one is a completely original and one-off work of art.
The resin sculpture component of each of these artefacts of illumination represent the physical body with the light inside representing the soul. The range of colours available in the the Foundation Stone series signifies that despite the innumerable differences which make each of us as humans individually unique and beautiful, it is the same light source that burns within us all. Just as all light on Earth originates from a single star, so too does the light of the soul originate from a single ultimate source of creation. We are all equal, and we are all one.

With the exception of the dimmer switch and LED light bulb, all components of the Foundation Stones are designed and individually handmade by me. The original design was hand-sculpted using NSP brand non-sulphur modelling clay and then moulded in Platsil pourable, addition-curing, two component silicone rubber.
The silicone mould is then used to cast the final product from Ultrapour two-part epoxy resin and Pearl Ex Pigments for the internal core colour. The lower portion is painted with premium quality acrylic paints. The base is cut and sanded from 3mm plywood to fit each stone individually and the internal holder for the dimmer switch bulb socket was sculpted with NSP clay, moulded in Platsil and then caast with Bqueen - a quick-setting polyurethane resin.
Illumination is provided internally by a G9 E14 LED bulb powered by an AC 250V dimmer switch and cord. This cord may be removed after purchase if an alternate plug is required. Alternate LED bulb designs may be used as long as it is small enough to fit inside the resin sculpture.
WARNING - DO NOT USE INCANDESCENT LIGHTBULBS - the use of incandescent light bulbs in this lamp will cause the resin to heat up rapidly, leading to high risk of burn injury, exposure to noxious fumes, and fire - USE LED LIGHT BULBS ONLY.
